Weave is the result of a collaboration between the Centre for AI and Climate and CEIMIA (Centre d’expertise internationale de Montréal pour l’avancement de l’intelligence artificielle), with the mission of improving access to energy data to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence.

UK domestic smart meter consumption data at half-hourly resolution, aggregated at LV feeder level. This dataset represents 100,000 LV feeders and 2,000,000 smart meters.

The data they’re offering is aggregated half-hourly domestic smart meter electricity consumption data. Four UK Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) have collected smart meter readings from their customers, added up the consumption for all the smart meters in homes served by each “low-voltage feeder” and then published it as open data.

They have collected the data each DNO publishes individually, filled in a couple of blanks and put it all together in an ARCO (Analysis Ready Cloud Optimised) file format called GeoParquet, to make accessing this data as easy as possible.

Low voltage feeders are the power lines that carry lower-voltage electricity from the substation to your home or building.
